  1. This looks sweet...good job.
  2. 60 degrees at load? Thats pretty normal isn't it? I don't know about 8150 temps, but my 3570K gets to 60 for a small while with a triple 120 radiator. It all depends on ambient temps, as well as the fact that some CPUs just get hotter than others. Your 8150 may be naturally hotter than someone elses 8150. If you have checked all the stuff you said, I wouldn't worry about it. If it is 60 degrees on idle, then you have a problem...
  3. Looking nice. One thing I have always wondered since it was before I got into computers, how does a 480 perform in terms of todays hardware?
  4. Like Barodil said, even if you managed to get it working there is only x4 bandwidth on the second slot, meaning you would not get very good performance.
  5. This is looking nice. I wish I went with an R4 for my build, it looks alot more proffesional and generally nicer than a switch 810 in my opinion.
  6. If you were worried about space you could always put the fan on the outside of the case but you will need longer screws.
  7. It's always a good idea to check though.
  8. I've never been a fan of the H220's customisation, personally I feel you may aswell do a fully custom loop. Unfortunately I can't help you with your questions, I thought I would just give my opinion, but good luck!
  9. Looking good...I have the switch 810 and I dislike the optical drive quick release things too.
  10. That was a relief to see the cable management, it looks so much better now!
  11. You could just get extensions like bitfenix alchemy, i have them and they are good.
  12. every few seconds, I had the issue where it turns on and off every few seconds, turns out it was a faulty 4 pin CPU power extender that came with my case.
  13. I have that SSD :P Great built too.
  14. Thanks Whaler, I will definitely spend some time scraping away the dust then. I wish decent fans weren't so expensive...
  15. Oh ok, fair enough, I also run fans on their lowest :P Do you think adding another 240 thin rad will be enough?
  16. I agree with the OP I have a UEFI bios and it definitely decreases the amount of time the little picture thing is displayed for. The GUI thing also works, as I don't have to watch the windows logo for ages when booting now, instead it shows a dotted line for a small amount of time so it boots quit a bit faster, and I'm using a sata 3 SSD..
  17. Don't go worrying if you see other people's 3570ks at different temperatures. Each CPU is different and some will get hotter or be less able to overclock than others. For example one 3570k could have load temps of 75 degrees, whilst another could have 65 degrees. Just thought I'd put this out there.
  18. It depends on your budget. If you are limted I would go with the 3770k because I don't think there will be much raw performance difference between that and the 3820, but due to the 2011 socket, if you buy a 3820, you will be forced to spend more on the motherboard than if you went with the 3770k. They both have 8 threads which is why I think they will be similar to eachother in terms or raw CPU power. Infact in a few becnhmarks I have seen, the 3770k outperforms the 3820. Here's a link to some benchmarks: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5771/the-intel-ivy-bridge-core-i7-3770k-review/6 You are correct in saying that socket 2011 will give more options for memory etc, but to be honest, you can get perfectly adequate memory and PCI lanes on 1155 motherboards, however you will have to sacrifice quad channel ram. The max amount of ram that you will need is 32 gigs, because only extreme stuff takes more than that. Its a tough one, but I don't see any real benefit from going with an i7 3820 over the 3770k, unless of course you have enough money and want to upgrade to a 3930k/60x in the future.
  19. Well I can't help you with everything, but I would definately say go for as many titans as you can as they are the fastest single GPU cards out there at the moment, and seeing as you want to run 6 3D monitors I'd imagine you will need the horsepower. Also what resolution do you want to run the monitors. I don't know much about monitors so hopefully someone else can help you. As for the RAM, if I'm correct, Corsair just released a kit with ridiculously high frequency, something like 3200 mhz. You could get 32 gigs of that. This bit is just personal preference, but for me I think completely transparent cases look awful because you can see all the wires no matter where you hide them. Personally I would go for a Caselabs case, as they make insane cases with so much water cooling potential and they are massive, so you might want to look into that, but again, it's personal preference so if you want a clear case, go for it, although I don't know measurements and stuff, but I'd imagine it would need to be pretty huge for all the stuff you want. About the PCI storage, I remember seeing that Asus has something like this coming out because I saw it as CES. I don't know if it's out yet though so you could abit of research there. I know for a fact that techoftommorow covered it at CES, not sure if Linus did though. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Good luck!
  20. You could try re-seating the CPU and the CPU cooler, making sure everything is in correctly (but remember not to push down on the CPU when installing it etc). Other than that I'm not sure. Are all the power cords in correctly? Give the system a thorough look over to see if anything is noticably wrong.
  21. Haha thanks Huntsman. I don't plan to do any major overclocks so hopefully it should be ok. About the soaking in warm water, I though that too, but I was worried incase of rust or corrosion due to chemicals in the water, or maybe limescale build up? I don't know, I might try that.
  22. This is bearing in mind that 95% of the fins on the radiator are coated in thick, hard dust at the moment. If I was to cool my GPU I would put more effort into cleaning it. And also, I find comparing temps to other coolers to be inaccurate unless done by the same person. I don't know what my ambient temps are but they will most certainly be different to the H100 temps that you mentioned. Also every CPU is different, mine may be a hotter/cooler of whatever than the one with the H100.
