  1. To everyone complaining about their internet connection, think yourselves lucky, I get 0.8mbps down and even less up, it SUCKS.
  2. Hi guys, I am building my friend a PC with a budget of £380-£400 max. The build will be a gaming PC that he wants to play most games on (obviously not highest settings or resolution), but he wants to PLAY most games. I need some help thinking of components though. So far I have thought of this: CPU: AMD A10 5800K GPU: AMD 7750/7770.....use this in hybrid crossfire with the APU? RAM: 4 gigs of some corsiar stuff 1333MHZ The rest doesnt really matter in terms of gaming performance. Do you think this will be ok for what he wants? Is there anything I should do differently? Is it right that APUs work better if they have higher frequency ram? If so is it worth buying some 1866 mhz? Or will the performance upgrade not really be noticeable? Thanks :)
  3. When I updated my BIOS had to re activate windows through their automated phone system, it takes about 5 minutes, this is probably what you would have to do.
  4. This is crazy, I can see these videos getting tonnes of views.
  5. I've heard a lot of people saying this SSD is a bad choice, not just here but elsewhere too, what exactly is wrong with it? I have it and it performs well.
  6. I would get the FX 6350 as it has more cores with higher clock speeds, which hopefully newer games will start to take advantage of with the new consoles coming out.
  7. Maybe your H100 has a faulty pump? Did the other CPU you tried overheat too or is it just the 3820?
  8. I like how you replaced the stock TIM. I would be too scared to do that.
  9. What temps are you getting? I bet they are barely above room temperature..
  10. Nice build, but I agree, and aftermarket cooler would be good.
  11. Just to be clear, an SSD will make the boot time of your PC much faster, and any applications or games you put on there will load faster.
  12. IMO keep the yellow stripes, they add just a hint of colour and it looks great.
  13. Looking good, I love how the motherboard looks in that case, it nearly matches the inside of the case.
  14. Good point, I will give it a go later, though it may change the curvature of the tube as the cable is kind of supporting it, but I will have a go when I next get a chance and post some pics of what it looks like.
  15. That was wierd, it was fine until I edited the end, good thing I copied the entire post a minute ago :) Anyway, what do you guys think?
  16. Hi guys, thought I would post the progression of my computer since last year when I first built it. It started off looking like this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us The specs where: CPU: I5 3570K CPU HEATSINK: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro V2 MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte Z77 D3H RAM: 4GB of some random Kingston stuff. SSD: Crucial 30GB boot drive. HDDs: WD 2TB green plus some other small capacity ones that I had lying around. PSU: OCZ CoreXtream 500w. CASE: Casecom 6788. I constantly did little maintenance to it, just when I had some spare time, until it looked like this: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Not alot of difference I know, main thing was I rotated the CPU cooler. Wire management was so hard in this case. This was when my uncle gave me some of his old watercooling stuff. He gave me a 360 radiator and a pump and res combo unit ( but not a bay one ). Because he gave them to me I don't know what make/model they are, sorry guys. I also got a GTX 660 for Christmas, which was great, it was a big performance boost from my 550ti. My first job was to change the case as there was no way I was getting water cooling in that tiny thing, so I bought a Switch 810. I also bought some bitfenix alchemy blue cable extenders, but I didn't buy a CPU 8 pin extender because the switch 810 came with a black one. Unfortunately, this was faulty, when I changed the case and turned on the PC is would turn off again after a few seconds, so I changed the 8 pin extender to an old, non sleeved one I had from before, and it worked. I never got round to buying another bitfenix one. Anyway, here's a bad picture from when I first transferred it over and replaced the GPU with the 660: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Now time for watercooling. Before you get to the pics, take not, I know I could have routed the tubing a bit better, but I wanted to make sure I could still remove the graphics card if I needed to. I also had limited options when mounting the pump/res unit, and it didn't have screws to do so. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us I had to find adapters for the pump/res, because the threads where not g1/4: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us I also changed the ram and SSD, so the final specs are: CPU: I5 3570K CPU COOLING: 360 radiator with EK-Supreme LTX CSQ Intel CPU Waterblock and EK EKoolant UV blue coolant. MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte Z77 D3H RAM: 8GB Crucial Ballistix SSD: OCZ Agility 3 120GB boot drive., which is behind the motherboard tray. HDDs: WD 2TB Green, which lives in the hotswap bay, screwed in of course. PSU: OCZ CoreXtream 500w. CASE: NZXT Switch 810.
  17. Nothing wrong with this at all, infact I really like the tubing, didn't know you could get it like that.
  18. You are missing the whole point of it, why would people want to see an average PC that looks like any other in the build logs of the week? I mean props to the person who built it, average PCs are great too but people want to see something unique, something amazing and something to inspire them, that's the whole point.
  19. Currently I have a custom loop with a 3 x 120mm radiator cooling a 3570k with 3 Corsair SP120 quiet editions in pull.
  20. This build is so clean and it manages to make the Noctuas look really good some how, good job.
  21. Get the 650ti, it's faster than the 7770.
  22. Casecom cases are pretty good for the money. I had a Casecom 6788 which was £28 or something, although I do recommend buying a better case to start with, if you can.
  23. Have you tried to see if it works? (Make sure the thermal material is non conductive though)
