  1. Keep it below 1.4v on the 24/7 profile for 9th gen. If you want to do higher for benchmark runs 1.45v should be the max for ambient cooling. Watch vrout in hwinfo64 if your mobo has that sensor. It is the most accurate representation of voltage at the cpu after vdroop is applied.
  2. Here is my aging fractal design R5. I recently stuffed another 240mm in the bottom of the case. It didnt require much modification. I just had to slide the fwd 240mm up about an inch and secure it with 4 screws instead of 8. The clearance from bottom rad to psu is made possible because the fans are under the rad. I added a picture of this. Specs: - 9900k 5.1ghz 1.38v (adaptive oc) - Msi 1080 ti gaming x 2025mhz - Patriot viper 3800mhz cl 17 - Gigabyte aorus pro z390 - Seasonic 750w g series - Crucial p1 nvme + 2 crucial mx500s Cooling: - Ek supremacy evo + 1080ti TF6 blocks - Ek xres 140mm pwm ddc 3.2 pump - 360mm ek pe + 240mm hw labs gts - 240mm xspc ex240 - Ekwb fittings + zmt tubing - mayhems x1 blue coolant - gentle typhoons + be quiet high speed Temps are 45c max on the gpu. 9900k runs around 65c max gaming. I posted a pic of cpu temps during a x264 stressor run. Cpu is not delided. 5.1 new new-1.bmp
  3. The older versions of prime95 like v26 and older this is true. Prime95 v28 and newer can run very hot even on fixed vcore at 1.3v +. 90c on a custom loop delided on small p95 28.5 is just torture for no reason when there are other cooler tests just as good. If your running a conservative vcore 1.25v and less p95 is fine though. It also depends on settings the latest prime95 set to custom and 1344, 1344, 6500mb and temps are similar to x264.
  4. Your not using hwinfo64 corectly. you are still viewing VID you need to veiw sensors only and look for VCORE0, vcore1, vcore2 and vcore3. it will look like this: http://imgur.com/7QAYrDn
  5. turn on all cstates. Auto is not the same as on. Then set power plan in windows to balanced. Veiew the vcore with hwinfo64. it will drop.
  6. Turn on all cstates. Auto is not the same as on. Set them all to on and c7 or c6. In windows set power profile to balanced. Voltage will drop at idle then. Some of the asrock mobos dont display the voltage drop. All my asus z87 drop at idle but my asrock h87 will not if the cpu is oc.
  7. Starting out with the exact same mobo, cpu, ram and gpu on both sides would have been better. Especially since the rig performance didnt matter. Then temps could be directly compared at the end and even weigh more on the points.
  8. The same oem asetek makes all those brands aio coolers. Corsair just recently switched oem manufacturer with h110iGT and h100gt.
  9. A intel haswell i5 does not bottleneck any available single gpu. Buy one of those or higher. Locked or unlocked (overclockable) doesnt even matter.1 tier lower like an i3 is fine up to gtx 960/285. Above that go i5.
