  1. Thanks for confirming my initial thoughts. Yes, I'm from germany and was considering the Zotac card too. Compared to the 7900 XT prices are almost equal, so I am leaning towards the more power efficient card.
  2. Hey! I am planning to buy an Asus TUF Gaming 4070 Ti graphics card and I am wondering if there is any benefit of choosing the OC variant? The current price difference is 60 euros. Can I manually overclock via MSI afterburner to get the clock speeds of the OC variant? Thank you!
  3. Hey! I am currently putting my new build together and there is some strain on the EPS 8 Pin Cables in the socket because I need to route them around my AIO (Case: Corsair 5000D). It barely fits and I am uncertain if it will stay in place. Is it safe to use extensions from Cablemod to relieve the strain?
  4. I found an entry in the MSI forum where several people are describing the exact same issue. The only solution was to exchange the board. If you are interested: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/motherboard-wont-power-on-at-all-z790-tomahawk-wifi.383679/ Thank you for all your help! My new build takes a little longer now but I will finish it eventually. See you!
  5. It seems like something is preventing the mainboard to get power because it can do something during the bios flash.
  6. I just put the AIO back on and the system literally does nothing after pressing the power button. I also tried shortening the power switch to rule out a faulty power button.
  7. What could be plugged the wrong way in the whole system?
  8. I created the USB drive for a BIOS flash and plugged it in the appropriate USB slot in the I/O Shield. Then I pressed the corresponding button for BIOS flash as stated in the manuel. Next, the fans of the AIO and the fan of the PSU started spinning. It took roughly 2 minutes and then it shut down. Per manuel the BIOS flash should take more like 5 - 10 minutes. In the manual it says that BIOS flash is also possible without CPU, maybe that's worth a try. I have no GPU plugged in, the system should be posting without it right?
  9. I inspected the pins in the socket and they look fine from all angles. The bottom side of the CPU is also fine. I will mount the cooler and try again.
  10. I will do so now, give me a few minutes.
  11. Hey! I hope someone can help me... I just built my new gaming rig this afternoon and now encounter some issues. After putting everything together the system didn't post at all (no fans spinning, no lights, no LEDs). First thought was a defective PSU, but I was able to rule that out as it was powering my old system just fine. Next thought was about the motherboard and its BIOS. So I downloaded the latest BIOS from MSI's website and followed the instuctions for the bios flash system of my motherboard. During that process the motherboard came to life but the EZ debug LED was showing a red light indicating that the CPU is not detected. What can I do next in an attempt to solving that issue? Reseat the CPU? Is the undetected CPU the reason that the system doesn't post at all? Thanks in advance, Max Motherboard: MSI Z790 Tomahawk DDR5 CPU: Intel Core i7 13700k RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 32 GB 6400 MHz
  12. Hey guys! I am just about to start building my new rig in Corsair's 5000D and I haven't figured out my fan configuration yet. I am planning to buy three additional 120 mm fans (two are included with the case). Current Plan: Front: 3 x 120 mm Intake Side: 2 x 120 mm Intake Top: AIO 3 x 120 mm Exhaust Rear: No Fan How do you feel about this? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  13. I am planning to install an AIO in my new build to cool an i5 13600K. From what I have read so far Deepcool offers good price/performance. Can you tell me the difference between their LT and LS series? Is it only RGB? If you think other brands/models offer better performance at the same price point, feel free to let me know. Thank you very much!
  14. Hello Mr. Kirashi!
I've seen some of your posts in the LTT forum and discovered that you run a similar system compared to mine.
I am planning on upgrading my GTX 970 (and subsequently change from 1080p to 1440p resolution probably) but some minor help/advide would be necessary. The system is mainly used for gaming.

How does your RTX 2060 perform? Can I even pair newer GPUs with the i7 4790k?

I know that the GPU market is kind of broken currently, so I have to wait to get good value. Nevertheless, some basic advice would be nice.

    Thanks a lot!

im not them but allow me to answer this:

yes, as long as you have a PCIE slot for it

to give you context, i paired a 3090 with a core 2 quad and it works "fine"

Decently well enough. My system is in desperate need of a thermal re-paste, but otherwise the RTX 2060, i7-4790K, and 32GB of RAM run most games at 1440p 60FPS just fine, so long as I don't max out every single setting. Apex Legends has everything cranked except the texture settings which sit around the middle, and games like Overwatch or Rocket League run well above 60FPS regularly. It's really only newer, more demanding titles or poorly optimized games like Warzone that struggle to hit 60FPS without turning settings way down, so an RTX 2060 will pair nicely with your CPU.

  15. Hello LTT Community! I am planning on upgrading my current system to be able to have a decent 1080p gaming experience in the latest/newest games. Since my rig is based on the 1150 socket from which upgrading would mean to spend a lot of money, a GPU upgrade comes to my mind. Here are my current specs: CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming RAM: G.Skill TridentX 16 GB 2400 Mhz MB: MSI Z97 Gaming 7 Which GPU would you suggest before running into a CPU bottleneck? I am also familiar with CPU overclocking if helpful. Thanks in advance
