    At one point I had somewhere close to 500GB worth of music. A lot of this was samples.

    "Fanboyism" has been around for quite some time (even before the internet), just in different forms, its a problem with people in general. Best advice - Buy whatever product best suits your own personal needs, if you don't know what product that would be do your own research rather than trusting one random guy on the net.

    Do you have the mic in a shock mount? A shock mount will stop the mic picking up vibrations from a desk or computer, if you already have the mic mounted you may just have the gain too high, condensers are VERY sensitive. If that still doesnt work then you might need to look at EQ.
