2020 - The Black and Purple Goliath
After graduating university in 2018, me and my wife finally got our own place. This automatically meant that the small build which I created some years ago could finally be replaced. In 2020, I finally splurged and got my thus far most favorite computer case of all times - Cooler Master Cosmos C700P. Throughout the year, the build underwent several changes. Most prominently it began with a simple 120mm and a GTX 1080 and ended up with full custom water cooling and an RTX 3080. To top that off the RTX 3080 was replaced in February 2021 with a PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT, as I wasn't exactly happy with the performance of Nvidia's offering.
Latest specs:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X overclocked to 4.4GHz
- Cooling: 1x EK 360mm radiator, 1x EK 120mm radiator, EK Velocity CPU block, XSPC Photon 270 V2 pump/res combo unit, various EK fittings and 13mm flexible tubing
- Graphics Card: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT, previously an EVGA RTX 3080 XC3
- Motherboard: Asus Crosshair VI Extreme X370
- RAM: 16GB (4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz) overclocked to 3933MHz CL20 and cooler with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks
- Power Supply: Corsair RM1000i
- Case: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P Black Edition

My new build 2016
The system I built in 2011 is getting outdated so I figured it was time for a new PC build. And since I could afford to buy top of the line parts this time I am attempting to recreate Linus's ultimate over kill build. I am of course changing stuff to where it makes sense for my own needs.

PC of Parts
Hi there all and welcome to my el-chepo build because i got bored and bar RAM i had a PC laying around in pieces,
Now Time to go into detail :-
Mobo : ASUS P5P43TD Rev 1.00
CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo (LGA775) E6320 @ 1866MHz
RAM : 2x2GB Hyperam 1333MHz
CPU Cooler : Cooler Master 212 Plus ( 92mm ( with a 120mm fan straped to it ;) ))
GPU : MSI nVidia GeForce GT 210 Fanless
PSU : FSP Group inc. 350 Watt
HDD 1 : WD 250 GB Blue
HDD 2 : Seagate 20GB (out of an old xbox 360 )
Case : Is from a family members old PC
OS : Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit
The whole build cost me £31.98 for the RAM plus a couple quid for a red and a green spray can to do the side panel because i was bored of the plain black lol , the case was an old one from a old PC of the family, PSU is what was in there with the previous system, the cooler is mine from when I upgraded to a H60 in my Personal Rig, as for the motherboard that was donated to me by a friend when his Celeron D 345 Prescott finally died 6-8weeks ago so with all these things and being bored while the parents are away i thought i'd make a s****y little system to chuck about, use in the shed, media system / torrenter because i'v undervolted the fans to 7V so it actually runs rice and quiet ! :D 3x120mm fans, i even opened up the psu and just rigged/wired it to 7v inside its self, case fan is 7v via molex re-pining, same with the CPU fan just pined at 7v but have a signal wire to the #CPU fan header so i can still read fan speed :) and there isn't any fans on the GPU so thats a win :)
