Day 1 - Something Good... Folding!
Good evening folks! If you didn't catch the start blog, it's my pleasure to welcome you all to the 2025 Midweek Madness. The first day of folding has now come to a close and the credits are in!
For me at least, it's been a rather hot day and sunny day and the folding isn't helping. The AC has been busy. I was planning on writing the blog at my desk but the PC is making the office a bit too warm. I've instead opted to make a grand migration to the couch with the T420 because I quite enjoy its keyboard. (And because my other laptops are quite warm from folding.) I still have not figured out how to fold on both my 5070 and 4060ti on the same machine without the system crashing. If anyone has any advice, please let me know!
Now of course, as per tradition I must tell you what I'm listening to while writing! Today it's the latest episode of Peter Noone's show "Something Good" from the 60s channel on SiriusXM. It always puts me in a good mood. I was planning on listening to the Beach Boys channel however it ended on the 20th. I suppose it is time to begin welcoming in the Fall. Does anyone else still listen to SiriusXM? I often prefer it to Spotify because the music selection is much more random than a shuffled playlist or artist station.

Alright, enough of all my talking - it's time for the ranks!
Sequence211 is in the throne with massive total of 62,577,511 points. Looks like they have some more hardware crunching compared to the summer sprint. In second place with 54,534,109 points, is folding veteran Shlouski, whom the stats team affectionately calls "Baby Yoda." In third with 28,597,570 points we have pyrosrock. I don't recall seeing pyrosrock in previous events. If this is your first event, welcome! If not, sorry for not remembering. Either way a solid start. Favebook is in fourth with 23,652,323 points but is being closely followed by Mxyzptlk (aka Mixie) and Miker07. Mxyzptlk sits in fifth with 23,248,004 points. miker07 is in sixth with 23,178,001 points. For big players like these three, a few hundred thousand points can make a difference. I have a feeling these three folding veterans are quite capable of putting up a fight. This is going to be interesting! CWallenberg, another familiar face is in seventh with 16,979,320 points. In eighth is micahfocht with 14,858,634 points. It looks like it has been a little while since micahfocht was in a folding event. Welcome back! MrFinn741 is following close behind in ninth with 14,796,894 points. And finally our honorable gatekeeper is some random person called "TheLANguy" with 11,902,711 points. He better watch out for the explosivetnt following close behind.
In total, the team has produced a grand total of 395,157,522 points today. Woah! The Extreme Overclocking chart is about to have a 90 degree spike in points.
Since this is only a five day event every moment counts! It's going to be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
Please remember that this is a friendly event, but we are all folding away for Science, AND GLORY! Make sure to give thanks where credit is due and hit that reaction button when someone helps you out.

Happy folding,
