  1. Thank you for the advice. So its pretty much down to if I want, performance or portability. Since its going to be a daily 20-25min walk & 10-20min train ride I need to take it into account. Though if only this M16 had a 3070 I would probably take it instantly(Unfortunately the one with a 3070ti is paired with an oven of a i9 12th gen, not to mention the price increase). But now with this information the Legion Pro seems to be a compelling choice. I'm leaving my desktop, so in a sense it will be a desktop replacement. (General use, gaming, media editing[PS,Premier], maybe even 3D modeling/animation)
  2. Hello, just asking if anyone could help me decide on which laptop is the best option. My number one option is the Zephyrus M16. I'm moving to a different country to study its a good beefy system with a somewhat more portable form factor. Being Asus of course comes with the branding price, but overall I feel its a good one to get especially if it goes on a sale. The second and third is tied. Legion 5 Ryzen and Legion 5 Pro. The Pro is newer(2022?) while the non-pro(2021?) has a 3070ti but I'm assuming has a lower TDP...? Anyway if its not much trouble could anyone guide me to what would be the differences of the two Legion and how does it stack to the M16. So price to performance and of course since I'll be lugging it almost 5-6 days in a week its going to play into the factors of which ones would be ideal. Please and thank You!
  3. Update. Woke up, the red led on its base still dead. Decided to re plug the power cord. It turned the thing back on!? Went and took a shower, came back turned on rig. The monitor is alive, restarted and its still working like always. Replugged the power chord(the one that's connected to the monitor) multiple times it's good(?) Headed to work so i hope it's fine when I get back. Anyone know what caused/is causing this?
  4. Hello! Long story short. I turned on my system like normal several hours ago. Monitor works fine. I shut down the system and the monitor with it goes to sleep/power off. Came back from work to play some games, boot my system and notice my main monitor the PG279Q didn't turn on as usual. I did what troubleshooting I can. Since I have its older brother the PG278Q which has the same power brick, I tried using it on the PG279Q no dice. I then tried using the PG279Q's brick on the PG278Q, works and no issues. So its not a power brick issue. Just wanted to ask if there is a way to troubleshoot this issue. And a possible solution. Please and Thank You!
  5. He mainly plays FF14, but also plays esports titles (though these are relatively easy to run at high frames even in the highest settings) So I'd say he wants to be able to play AAA titles here and there.
  6. Hello hello! Just wanted to ask for advice on this. I have a base line of the parts, but I want to ask you guys if there are better parts (especially on the parts with unnecessary bells and whistles) He mainly wants to play 1080-1440p at 120hz. Doesn't care about aesthetics at all. Best price to performance. The cheaper the better. 1200$-1500$CAD Budget Black Friday soon, the plus and minus of prices would change, but getting a general idea on pricing still remains the priority. If a part gets cheaper nice. 7. Yeah, but its only happened this week so I'm not sure what the problem is really.
  8. Hello hello! I've been getting a screen flicker on my main monitor for quite a while now. It started only a few days ago. Didn't update my NVIDIA driver in the time span. It happens in games rarely, but when just browsing the web, it happens more often. Main monitor: PG279Q 2nd monitor: PG278Q Set with 165 and 144hz respectively. I've been reading multiple forums about this issue, and somewhat have quite the list of reasons why this is happening. I'd also like to note today's gaming session gave me a new issue. I play my game (FFXIV) in fullscreen windowed and usually move to my 2nd monitor to do some multitasking (check discord, browse websites). When I moved the cursor from the Main monitor (FFXIV running) to the 2nd monitor, the cursor went all glitchy-like (in the 2nd monitor). As in you cant see the arrow anymore and its all pixely (where the missing cursor arrow was). Then when I move my cursor back to the main monitor where FFXIV is currenty running it freezes the game for a second then goes back to normal. After that, going back to the 2nd monitor seems to be fine, no glitchy pixel cursor. Happened 2-3 times today. Just wanted to ask here knows whats going on and f there is any solution to this problem. Thanks!
  9. Oks. Yeah at certain games, the more demanding it goes 120-150+/- I've read G-Sync works best 2/3 frames BELOW the monitors maximum frames, do I need to limit it when it does break through?
  10. Mhm yeah I get that, but does it matter (any benefits, etc etc) if its turned off on the 2nd monitor that isn't being used to game. The main monitor will still have it enabled of course.
  11. I have the old ROG Swift (first TN one) and now just recently got the IPS 165hz version. So quick question, since I'm now using the IPS as my main monitor does it matter to turn of Gsync on the TN one? (Will turning off Gsync yield extra performance, less heat, ideal or not, etc etc is my question.) As its only just going to be relegated as a 2nd multitasking monitor. Please and Thank You!
  12. I bought it I got it in 2015. As for loudness I'm not sure, my 980ti is the reference model so if anything its the loud thing in my system. Would you say it is a required replacement when I get the 2080ti installed?
