Harddrive data recovery issues - Need help :-(

TechBlitZ

Hey guys,

Just pulled out a harddrive (that I believe was starting to fail from) a CCTV kit.

I need to pull all the data off it so I can back it up, however when I plug the drive into my PC it won't show up in windows or the bios.

I currently have a 120g ssd and 1tb haddrive already in my PC

How can I retreive the data off it? it's a 1Tb WD green

Thanks

Hey there TechblitZ,

If the drive is not recognized in BIOS, Device Manager or Disk Management, I would suggest that you try all the other ports with different cables, make sure the drive is spinning up properly and try it on another (or more) systems. If that doesn't work you might need to turn to a data recovery company in order to get your data back from the drive. Do have in mind that data recovery services can be costly. Here are some partners that work with WD: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=wbyiZV

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
