need help or a guide on how to hacking tosh my amd system

jamese669

I'm not sure if an AMD system would be ok for a hackintosh as all macs are now using intels hardware. This is where you want to be looking though :

It has to be a hacked version of OSX though, which leads to instabilities and few updates.

Hackintosh does work on AMD platfforms, it will be a painfull process, but you might get most of your hardware running. Any reason in special that makes you wanna use OSX?

You should check www.tonymacx86.com and www.insanelymac.com Those were the webs/forums I used when I had my hack, really good community with people willing to help you.

Mobo: Asus Maximus Impact VI Processor: Intel 4690K @ 4.4Ghz 1.22Vlts Memory: 2x8 GB DDR3 1866Mhz GSkill Sniper

VGA: Sapphire HD 7970 3GB OC Audio: Asus Impact Supreme FX SSD: Mushkin Chronos 120GB HDD: WD Black 500GB

Power Supply: Coolermaster V650 Semi Modular Case: Bitfenix Prodigy Cooling: Corsair H100i

i do alot of musical production using logic pro i would rather use logic as its what im trained to use, i need to use it now more than ever because of my job i just got employed as a mixing engineer and need to get logic wich only works on osx

Use the NIreshi (sp?) distro, from what I've read they have the best support for AMD right now. Ordinarily I'd recommend Nawcom but he's been sick so he's understandably behind.

If you have the possibility I would suggest you to sell your cpu and mobo, then get an Intel plattform, as I said above, you might be able to get it working on an AMD plattform but if you can get an Intel based system you will be ready to go in two or three hours with everything working correctly. I spent almost a week trying to get it working on AMD, then an update was released, it got it updated and that messed everything. So it is up to you! good luck man!

Doing just straight updates even on Intel platforms will mess up your hackintosh, after you install the update you need to install the newest hackinstoshed kernel.

I've had a hackintosh running on an amd platform before, your best bet is to grab iatkos or another distro and find the right kernel!

This kernel is for FX series processors so you should be good to go! http://www.osx86.net/view/3539-amd_kernel_for_mountain_lion_10.8.2.html

Like if I helped :)

any idea how to install the kernal

The kernel goes on the root of your ISO or USB drive, you can rename it Mach_Kernel or alternatively you can use the boot flag

kernel=amd_kernel

Make sure you check the name of whatever kernel you decide to use, it might not always be named amd_kernel! Try lots of different kernels, Took me 6 months to get a stable hackintosh and I almost gave up ;)
