[Complete]Sort of budget 1080p PC [first build]

msvelev

Hi everyone,

This will be my first build. I've upgraded my PC a few times in the past but never built one from scratch.
I'm using a few parts from my old PC.
It'll be nothing fancy, just straight up gaming power on the budget.
I have 3 monitors: 1 1080p widescreen for gaming, and 2 side square 1200p ones for whatever.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor  476.00 BGN (Purchased) ARRIVED
Motherboard: Asus Z97-P ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  229.00 BGN  (Purchased)ARRIVED
Case: Cooler Master N500 ATX Mid Tower Case 140.00 BGN   (Purchased)ARRIVED
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply 93.00 BGN  (Purchased)ARRIVED
RAM: 4x2GB DDR3 not sure what brand from my current PC (Owned)
Storage: 1x128GB PNY SSD, 320GB HDD (will get a 1TB WD in the future since my broke down a few months ago) (Owned)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card  (To be purchased next month)

----------------------------------------
(1 BGN = 0.579542 USD FYI)
Total so far: 938 BGN = 543 USD.
The GPU is expected to be around 750 BGN (434 USD) so the expected total should be around:  1688 BGN or 977 USD.

As soon as my parts arrive I'll post some pics of how is the build going.
Pretty excited since this will be my first complete build and I've been wanting to do this for a while now :)

I've finished the build finally, and things have changed a bit. Here's the final build that stands next to me:

For a 3 monitor setup I would rather go for a 290/290x becouse #vramgate could be bad for your gaming experiance

I'm not running nvidia surround. They're just for watching something while gaming or opening wikis and documentation when I'm developing.

So the 3.5GB VRAM will be plenty for my single 1080p monitor.

Well then yea, but 290/290x has still more price/perforemance, just saying

In my country the r9-290 is $10 more than the 970 and the 290x is A LOT more.

EDIT: my bad there are a few power color 290s which are like 20-50 bucks less but the 970 outperforms them in every way...

Yeah, get the 970 then instead, but I'd reccomend G1 Gaming, 0% fan mode feels sketchy and totaly not safe

most of the major manufacturers of the 970 have the 0% fan mode

Intel Core i7-4790K // Corsair H100i // MSI Z97A-GAMING 6 // 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws X 2133Mhz (Red) // OCZ ARC 100 120GB SSD // 2x Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD // 2x Asus GTX 970 STRIX(2-Way SLI) // Fractal Design Define R5 (Black) // Corsair RM 1000W // Asus DVD/CD Writer // Windows 8.1

Glad you like it. I only regret not getting a modula PSU, those cables just sitting on the bottom don't look nice at all.

I went with the G1 Gaming... the only one without, however I'll use the guide somewhere in the forums to make myself 0% fan mode, because quiet is nice.

Although I'm folding when I'm not gaming, so I don't know when will the 0db fan mode ever kick in xD

I dont think this even counts as, "sort of budget". This is more like, "almost high end". Not trying to down your build, I really like it. And anyways, isnt better to be able to flaunt your build as solid gold lol. :)

  i5 4440, 8GB 1600 mhz, Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H, SX900 128gb SSD, 850w 80+ Gold, FD R4, 270
