Smite and Dota 2

So question for those who play smite and dota 2 a ton, how are the communites? I am thinking about swapping over to one of the two. I am kind of bored with LoL. People seem to get more and more toxic everyday. Having trouble even enjoying playing these days. And any other online games that you guys/gals could suggest would be awesome! I play a big of CS:GO and that is pretty fun!

I would say SMITE.

Community is about a 7/10. Majority of the time it's pretty good but at times you get stuck with some D-bags. They have a very helpful forum though and most people on there are really cool.

 

A lot of non English speaking (mostly Spanish) people play SMITE. I noticed that.

 

I can live with people speaking spanish. Means I can't understand the rage!

Dunno about Smite, but people in Dota 2 are WAY less butthurt than LoL at certain points. Since the meta is a lot more diverse, you wont get flamed for picking a second carry, at least as long as you're not messing up the lanes and making a glaring hole in the team composition.

 

However, when it comes to feeding, making mistakes and all that stuff, it's pretty much the same as LoL, more or less.

Personally I've had better experiences with Dota 2, which I believe is by design. There's not a dedicated jungling role, it's the supports and mid laner who usually do the ganking, so if there's tension between two players, they're not forced to be stuck with each other like with the ADC and support in LoL.

The flaming when feeding is in pretty much every game there is. But thank for covering the butthurtness. I've had games where someone forgot to leash because they went to the bathroom and the jungler went and fed his lane three kills. Like wtf?!

I like smite, its so different to play moba in first person. Very good experience.

Cant comment on community, i dont play typical maps. I love arena and the one that is just like Hollowing Abyss from league.

The biggest thing is that u camt chat with enemies (no global chat) while u are in a game.

I've been playing a ton of smite and loving it more and more! So gonna buy the god pack! Such a amazing deal!!

Take your pick.. I've played Dota 2, League of Legends, and Smite.

 

All of the communities are very similar. With a mix of different personality types, just like with any game.

I seriously hope that they change to subscription based (like 49.99 USD per month) than the current free to play. More and more kids with really bad attitude in the game. If you are noob, i don't mind at all. I mean everyone starts from some where right.

I don't even play ranked anymore, single or party, it makes me so much more mad when there's an idiot who won't shut up about how bad we are when he's the one feeding in a ranked match.  Most Dota-style games are like this though, community is really bad.  Hard to imagine that these are people who pack the halls in tournaments and funded TI4 to 11 million

Haha. I know right. They are always doing that in game. If they actually shut up, like i mentioned, noob to me is ok. It's just their attitude I can't stand it.
