Help with my setup for 2500-2700 euro

This is what  have for now:

- Case:  NZXT Phantom 820

- Asus   BW 12B1ST

- RAM:  G.Skill Ripjaws Z series (4x4GB, 1600MHz, CL9) Corsair Dominator Platinum (2x8GB, 1600MHz, CL9)

- Motherboard: Asus Maximus V Formula (I was thinking on going for the VI Formula) ASUS Maximus VI Formula

- CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K (or going with the 4770K with VI Formula) Intel Core i7 4770K

- CPU cooler: Corsair H100i (does this one also fit for LGA1150?)

- HDD/SSD: OCZ Vector 128GB (OS)

                   OCZ Vector 256GB (Games)

                   WD Caviar Black 1002FAEX (Data)

- Videocard: EVGA GeForce GTX 780 w/ ACX Cooler

- Power supply: OCZ Fatal1ty 1000W searching for another PSU

- Monitors: Asus MX239H x3

Does anyone have any tips for me like should I go for Haswell, should I get 2 GTX 680's or a single 770/780 to run BF3 on highest settings @ 60FPS @ 5760x1080...? Going with a 780!

Any help is appreciated! ;)

Pretty nice system also the H100i should fit LGA 1150 because that and LGA 1155 have the same footprint so the bracket should just fit without any issues.

If you want to go with Haswell then do it but Ivy Bridge is also good so go with whatever :)

On the video cards I'd probably just go with a single GeForce GTX 780, that should do the trick unless you can get a great deal on a GTX 680.

What are you planning on doing with your PC? For purely gaming, a 3770k or 4770k is overkill, but you might as well go for haswell, just because it is the latest version. Also, you can get the added benefit of lower power states, and then you can get a 550w PSU to power the whole thing. This could be helpful for you:

Dont get 4x4gb sticks get 2x8gb so you can upgrade easier later. and yes the h100i fits.

But isn't 16GB enough? Even for the future?

Well I like the looks of the Maximus VI Formula, especially that sexy ROG armor & Haswell is newer technology so maybe I'll go with Haswell :)

In fact 8 GB is enough but you always want to keep your options open. The difference will be unnoticeable in a gaming/real world scenario. (4x4GB and 2x8GB). I'd get the 2x8 unless the 4x4 is less expensive which probably isn't the case :P and as I suppose, money is not your limiting factor.

More than 16GB? I don't think that would be necessary  if I'll only use the PC for gaming ;)

Okay but still 2 sticks is usually cheaper than 4 sticks and again, maybe you want to start editing or something. you never know its just a good idea.

For only gaming, the i5 4670k is a great choice, as currently most games don't take advantage of the extra cores. However, with your budget, you might as well go for the 4770k, as it will be more futureproof if you ever decide to do some video/photo editing.

Why the 4670K for gaming, and not the 4770K in the first place?

Most, if not all games do not use the extra cores. The only main difference between the 4670k and the 4770k is hyper threading. So, if you are on a budget, and building a purely gaming system, the 4670k is a great choice.

Hmmm, is it 100 euro more for just the Hyper-Threading? :o

I am not sure what the conversion is, but it is $100 american dollars difference. Yes, the difference is hyper-threading, which can be useful in certain situations, but if you don't need it, you might as well save the $100. I have a 3770k, and I use it for photo and video editing, so it is actually quite helpful. Personally, if I was in your situation, I would still get the 4770k. It could end up being useful if you decide to do video/photo editing, and also it could be good when game manufacturers start optimizing their games for more cores.

So Maximus VI Formula + 4770K, ok!

Then what videocard? 770/770SLI or 780?

What is your budget? I tend to suggest the highest powered single GPU you can get, which would be the GTX 780. However, the 770 SLI would probably perform better. Some games are not optimized for SLI, and there is the increased heat, and power usage. So, I personally would go for the 780.

Should perform pretty well, if that can't pull it off then I'm not sure what GPU can

The only GPU's I can think of that is probably more powerful is the GeForce GTX 690 (not 100% sure) and the GTX Titan.

The setup you have should be just fine, I'm very jealous :)

The reason I don't want a 690 is because it doesn't have a backplate & the 780 has newer technology so :p

I was thinking on going with a Red colorscene (don't know the right word for it, so sorry if it's incorrect) but I changed my mind & now it will be blue, so I will change the PSU. I chose the OCZ Fatal1ty 1000W because it has a red led fan, but if I'm going with a blue colorscene I need to find one with a blue led fan, or just a platinum PSU ;)
