Android Mobile Gaming:How swift you think it is?

Hello everyone,so i decided to ask about your toughts on the current android videogames that really push it and are incompatible with some high end smartphones. First it could be like Brothers in Arms 3 (Altought its noticable to check the stuttering when walking and aiming, its rather smooth to play). Hungry Shark is also a graphical intensive game that offers an exclusive and diverse gameplay (Would like to see if any other similar game like that would be made with such details). So what you guys think of the android mobile gaming :P. Every smartphone is different and the these titles show the lowest performance line on high resolution smartphones due to their (QHD displays) like the LG G3,Note Edge and Nexus 6. Share your ideas and toughts on when android gaming will finally be very clear and unslugish. Thank you.

Well first off I just want to say for the record QHD displays are stupid for a smartphone. Give me a quality 1080p screen with 100% sRGB colour reproduction and great contrast any day. Besides it's kind of odd that a phone would be pushing out 2560x1440 pixels when most people with their desktops (myself included) are still using 1920x1080.

Anyway on topic, well the phone I have is a OnePlus One, so it's a fairly high powered device that can run most games without too much lag. The problem I mainly have with games with great visuals is that one, they take up a lot of space, but they also seem to be lacking in gameplay so they aren't actually that fun. The 'best' game I've played with proper 3D graphics would be Dungeon Defenders, which was alright, but it just doesn't work as well as it does on PC. So what I've found is that games are either have good visuals and that's their only redeeming feature or have really awkward controls. As for many of the games out there, they aren't actually that impressive graphically to be honest.

Which is why for me I prefer the more 'indie' stylized games. So it isn't as much about pure technical achievement when it comes to graphics, but ones with a really clear art direction, and they execute that look with high fidelity. Examples of this include World of Goo, Badland etc. Admittedly those games don't really have the most innovative gameplay, but you are limited to what people can conceivably be able to control effectively with a touch screen. They are somewhat intensive, but not to a point that most phones can't run them, but more importantly they are able to achieve the look and feel that they want. In that case we have already reached that point of getting clear and unsluggish gameplay.

As for whether or not we'll ever have games that just run smoothly and without stutter, not for a while. Because first we have the pointless pixel arms race, I believe good old Sammy is planning on unveiling a 4K display soon. A 1080p display is good enough so the screen technology needs to slow down it's development and perfect what it currently has in terms of colour, contrast and energy efficiency. But the other problem you also run into is heat, quite a lot of smartphones get quite warm when pushed, this problem should be less of an issue as we continue to make more efficient SoCs designs combined with die shrinks. So you are very much limited by the platform of these ultra thin small devices and there's a point where physics just says screw you.
