Evga z77 mitx and hard drive problems

Ericbleg

So I decided to build a new setup from the existing parts I had which came from an Alienware x51. I bought a evga z77 stinger mitx motherboard and an evga hadron air. My full system specs are:

Intel i5 3450

Evga 760 super clocked

6 gb of random memory(came with the Alienware)

1 tb seagate 7200 rpm hard drive

The hadron air has a 500w psu

Basically when I had everything connected and started up my machine it booted to the bios and showed the hard drive as St1000...ect. However when I try and boot to windows it says no hard disk is detected and after callin tech support they said that could be from the alienware's motherboard using a different chip set. I then gave my hard drive to a friend who works at an it place and he formatted it and downloaded window 8.1 with the disk I gave him and the product key. Long story short it shows up that windows hasn't been activated and my GPU isn't coming up at all.
