Shorter cable for Sennheiser HD 558 for Ipod

Well the title says it all, I just got my HD 558's today and need a shorter cable for when I use them outside of my house with my Ipod/laptop. I prefer something braided, but I durability more then anything.

just braid the one you got to whatever length you want. that in itself will make it more durable.

The issue is the one I have now is way to long to take out of the house and its got a 5mm jack to a 3.5mm jack adapter for my Ipod Touch  which makes it uncomfortable when its in my pocket also.

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.

Do some DIY, i.e. braid and solder the cable yourself. Aftermarket plugs are usually more resistant to lose contacts problems, because they got metal clamps to clamp the wires. 

 

It's not hard to do at all, just take a bit of work and time. Alternatively, you can get DIY cables from audio stores, but might be costly, because they're using (supposedly) 'super' cables.
