DT 990 vs Phillips Fidelio x1

A99

I've narrowed it down this far. Which one?

Depends on your preferences. the X1 has better mids for guitars, vocals and such, while the DT990s have very good bass, and lots of treble. the DT990 (250 ohm version) might need an amp too, depending on your current gear, but we won't know until you actually try them on your current setup.

Personally I'd take the X1's because I love my mids.

Both are fantastic. The dt 990's do need an amp. The X1's need amping as well, but not as much as the 990's.

I think I will take the x1 then. Thanks!

Look into the X2 as well. No reason to get the X1 for 300 when its supposed successor is out for the same price. My X2 should be coming in Monday.
