FX6300 or i3 4150?

So my current system is:

AMD A10 6700 very weak APU only has 65watt TDP so doesn't have much performance compared to 6800k

GTX 760 EVGA ACX Superclocked

Corsair CX500

8GB DDR3

Rest is irelevant

Here are the two CPUs I want to buy:

FX6300

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113286

i3 4150

http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116995

Which one would give me better performance for BF4 and next gen games?

Right now I get really low CPU usage allot of times and that due to my shitty CPU so would getting either one these let me get atleast 90% on CPU heavy games or scenerios?

And also for the i3, would I have to get one of the new chipsets or get i get a last gen chipset?

How much better are these CPU from the A10 6700? Keep in mind the 6700 is a really weak CPU and has less performance then the 6800k and the newer APUs........

Thanks for your time guys!

I have a FX6300 and its what i would call a happy medium CPU, good all-rounder. its not the top cpu or the bottom, but it does the job and seems to be fine with the games and software i run.

haven't had an intel for a few years now so can't comment on it.

you would need a new m/board yes? if you need a new board and cpu look at combo deals and you might get a good i5 intel which will be better. all depends on your budget and needs.

got to love Asus components

i3, purely because you can move on to a better CPU if you deem so.

I usually would say 6300, but you have a lot already.

Hmm I get a 4430 for 150$ and its unopened so I think I might get that...

The i3 is no worse at multi core games, and better in odd occasions where only single core performance matters.

Both perform similar so it doesn't matter. Although you're way better off with the i3 in case you ever want to upgrade to a i5/i7.

Here's what I think. The FX6300 is a very good processor for the money. The i3 4150 is a little more expensive but the performance you will get out of it will be somewhat the same. The single core performance of the intel is feats better than the 6300 and that's what you're going to see performance differences over the 6300. The 6300's multi core performance is higher, but you'll definitely notice the better single core performance in the intel. In my opinion if youre going to go amd, save up a little more and get the 8350, it will last you a lot longer performance wise than the 6300 and isn't crazy expensive like some of the intels. A far as the intel goes, I'd suggest doing the same and save up for an i5 3570k instead of the 4150 for the same reason. I think you'll be happy with either one of my options, but I think you should go for the intel side because if you want to upgrade it even more, intel is a great option because they're always going to be in the lead as far as who has the fastest processors. Either one of the choices I gave you, wouldn't have you look back on it and think wow that was a mistake. But I do think you'll look back and think it was a mistake if you go with the 6300, my buddy went with that option and is having regrets.
