Hello! I'm planning a build for a friend, and he's asked to be somewhere around £700 (UK) for an entire build. CPU, GPU, -> Monitor, Headset, keyboard etc. I've threw together this,

so far. And I'm kind of lost for what headset to get, I thought of the hyperx stinger because it's... well it's kingston and I like them, but I'm not too knowledgeable about headsets so can anyone help me out? And also, if anyone has ideas for what to remove/swap that's great too!

He'll be using it mostly for gaming (black ops 4 etc, AAA games) and University work, he's doing a course in Game development and it seems like that'll be mostly Unity 3D, Blender and possibly Photoshop. I understand that a bigger SSD would be wise for that kind of production but that would've threw the budget out the window xD

Thanks~

vK

I would wait a while. Look for some deals tomorrow and get something like this. 300 series msi boards are trash, the aero coolers are cheap, a 1200 is not that good as a proper ryzen 5, display refresh rate overclocking exists, and for the notice, don't expect to overclock the ram, those are cheap hynix chips from a lower line

I'll look for deals tomorrow, but I'm not even sure if my friend has the money right now so Cyber monday will most likely pass without him getting anything. I don't expect the memory to be overclocked past 3000 MHz, and with a headset on top of that, it's going to go way over £800. So I'll look into the XFX card, the fractal case, the mobo and I'll see what I can sort out with the 1200 -> 1600x. Thank you for the input :)

and just because I'm curious - what makes the MSI 300 boards 'trash'?

Yeah, I chose for the 1600x in this case, but something like a 1600/1700/1700x/1600x/2600/2600/2700/2700x/1800x would be fine, just look what's the best for the price

No problem. Not that tns are that bad imo, but if it's the same price, I'll take the ips

Yeah I have a TNS and it's fine but he is probably gonna do photoshop work and stuff so getting a colour accurate panel is definitely a good idea imo
