1070 ti test

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

Without PCIe power, the card won't start, even in a low power state.

I want to upgrade my brothers hp pavilion with a proper gpu and some other things. I have a 1070 ti myself and want to test it to verifiy it will work with 10-series cards. the only problem is that his psu doesn't support any 8 or 6+2 pins. could I start it up for like a minute without damaging anything without them? I'm only testing posting, nothing more

edit: and yes I know this is stupid, I just want to know

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?
