I have a pre built dell PC xps 8900  (ik ik but it's what I could afford at the time ) it currently has a gtx 730 in it was wanting to upgrade to a 1050ti since it's back Friday theres better deals, and I'm low funds , would that be a good choice and either a single fan or dual fan I'm kinda new at this? get a new PSU like the cx 450 (2017) from corsair and buy an rx 580. it all depends on budget. this is a all new upgrade option for about 250$

you can get an r9 290x used and an cx 550 (2017) from corsair new and that would be about 170$ upgrade depending on the used market.

You can get a RX 570 for around the same price and it will perform way better than 1050ti, the only thing is power consumption

My second build has an EVGA GTX 1050 Ti (single fan) and has been running solid for a couple years now. I highly recommend the 1050 Ti, you'll notice a huge difference in performance. If you plan to overclock the gpu go with a dual fan, if you do not plan to overclock a single fan is great as well.

But with an XPS 8900 you must have an intel 6th gen i5 or i7. If you're able to try and find a 1060 for an even better performance boost.

HP Pavilion Gaming 15 / Ryzen 5 4600H / GeForce GTX 1050 / 8 GB @ 3200MHz

You sure a prebuilt chasis will have enough airflow for that? :P

yes, its not that hot.

also half the cards you get on the used market are blower style coolers making them perfect for bad airflow cabinets.

id get a new PSU anyway, also not rellying on board power is nice as you dont know what the boards are built for. so cards with power connectors are very nice.

In that case I'd go 570

Here in Canada, The RX 570 is $35 more than the GTX 1050 Ti, The RX 580 (4GB) is $100 more. I suppose if you're talking in USD where the price gap is smaller, the RX 570 sounds to be the best bang for your buck.

It has an i7 6700 I believe and dont plan on overclocking not till I can afford on building it myself and I can really only buy it from best buy or Amazon

Personally im more of an nVidia fan than than AMD's Radeon series when it comes to GPU's. Definitely a GTX 1050Ti would be a nice upgrade, but consider the GTX 1060 (3gb version) as well. The 3gb version isn't priced that much higher than that a 1050Ti and will grant a much bigger performance boost.
