Two separate graphics cards

Hello Guys, I have a MSI 1080ti installed in my PC. I want to add another one. I’m intention is to have one of the cards push the two 4K monitors I have and the other to work with premiere pro. I’m sorry if this sounds naive,  will it make a difference. I don’t want any performance issues when I’m editing. Will premiere automatically use the free card, or I would have to configure it. Would it be better if I SLI them. Thank you.
