Hi, i recently started using SLI (extremely impressed in performance and lack of stutter), but i was wondering if there was any way to make it so the bottom card (often labelled as number 2 in games/control panel), was the main one. I ask as the main card does seem to be taking more of the load than the second, and my top card is almost always 20 degrees hotter than the lower one. I was hoping to offset this somewhat by making the second card the one that does the most work.

Anyone know how?

P.S i've plugged the display into the second card and ran it in sli from there, but "card 1" still was doing all the heavy lifting (basically it made no difference)

Samsung cf791 3440x1440 100hz Quantum Dot

Haven't broken something with an OC yet... YET.

Swap the two cards in the motherboard...

xD

That will change nothing because the other card will be 20c hotter as is usually the case when both cards are with fans and not blower style.

Anyway, is the load really that different between those cards? I find that most of the time I either have close to 100% on both cards and when lower, it's also both. Granted, since finishing my build I have only been tangling with titles that support SLI at least good if not very well.

DId you disable SLI first and then re-enable it after you plugged the monitor to the bottom card?

I'd say theres about 5% difference on average in most games, but up to like 30 in others
