Hi everyone,

Currently I have an Asus M5A99 R2.0 with AMD FX-8350 Black edition and 4x4gb of DDR3 RAM. Without going into detail, I broke my motherboard and I'm looking to replace it. Im too poor to get something brand new because the RAM isnt cheap. Also, I was thinking to switch to intel...

For 300$, what are the option for CPU and Mobo and keeping my DDR3 RAM ?

Ty

for DDR3 the 4th gen intel CPUs are recommended. What region are you buying from? Is eBay an option?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

I would recommend something like the 4770k or 4790k with a good z series mobo for that price. Or just look into ryzen, but that will be hard for that budget, becouse you need ddr4 for that

I would love to get Ryzen, but I cant really wait to get the money for the ram....

Oh BTW, I'm selling a z97 motherboard for $100 USD, which is less than half your budget. You could buy that from me and then get a 4770k off used market.

Not a bad mobo to pair with it. But I started with my pc intrest around the skylake series cpus, so I dont know that much about it. Pair it with a 4770k or 4790k and a good cooler, and you'll be fine. Assuming the board still works fine

The board is fresh from Asus repair services, it's good.
