Laptop for college

I just graduated from high school and I want to study architecture what is the best ultra book for me 

(my budget is less than 1000$)

Are ryzen 5 2500u ultra books does the jop???

Does battery life matter to you? Weight? Size? Do you need a dedicated GPU? Does build quality matter to you?

Depends on the specific laptop you're talking about.

Architecture courses will cover autocad and solidworks.  That means you will want a quad core, preferably with smt/hypertheading.  You will need 16gb ram and an ssd.  For mass file storage you can get away with an external drive. Like this dell

I want an ultra portable for the college (architecture) and I have a budget of 1200$

I don't know about the specs I am asking about them
