Ok, gonna throw all of the facts at you

A) Given a limited connection there's no actual way to reduce the latency (time that a packet needs to go from point A to point B) without improving raw speed first.

B) cfos, networkgenie and all of those programs actually increase the latency because they add a second node between you (client) and the destination (server) so yeah, surprise, it's a lie..

C) Wireless connections ARE slow (compared to cable) and have high latency by default.

Imagine a bunch of high speed trains with 2000 passengers going through a tunnel from I don't know Dallas to Helena, there are no stop signs, no curves, anything, that's how a cable works, now imagine those 2000 guys each one in a car do the same trip, and let's say 900 of those don't really know how to get there so they just turn around and return to their home to look for a map so they can go out again (yeah they have no phones or anything and also forgot to grab a map) that's how Wi Fi works.

B) Potentially they CAN improve latency, but your ISP would have to have some serious routing issues to do so, in most cases I'd agree that they are more likely to make it worse.

C) I wouldn't say WiFi has high latency.  If you only use it when wired is not an option and are using a channel not sharing with your neighbours it should only add at worst a few milliseconds.  In comparison which node I connect to at my ISP can vary up to 10ms, a much larger difference.
