"Oh great another black and red prodigy build this is gonna be stale and boring" I know the case and color scheme are both over done, but I'm hoping to make mine different from the rest

Have some free time so i figured I'd start the build log for my new build.
Parts list:
*Xeon e3-1203v: 245$
*Msi z87m gaming: 160$
*Corsair h80i: only got it cuz of a crazy deal, 55$
*16gb of corsair vengeance Lp 1866(I think): from old machine got for 110$ before prices raised
*Bitfenix prodigy m(black): 100$
*Corsair rm750: only 99$ :)
*corsair m500 ssd(240gb flavor): 135$
*Nzxt led strip(2m): 15$
*Some 3m dinoc carbon fiber wrap, only for accents
*Acrylic sheets .25inch thick but can't decide the shape or design of the window so haven't ordered it yet. Will choose color and shape after I get the case
*Not sure about gfx cards yet. Might get two 7970's if the Craig's list seller will contact me or might just get another Asus dcu2 660 to go with the one a own

-Planned mods, feel free to suggest-
*Going to look into fixing the orientation of the mobo tray
*remove Bitfenix logo on the front
*change color around face plate to red
*carbon fiber wrap the front plate
*remove 5.25 bay
*sleeved cables mabey if I don't like the flat black cables

Any ideas are greatly appreciated, if you wanna question any parts of the build choices feel free to :)

Wow just tried the psu and just a Asus 660 and its barley fits its literaly up against the psu

Why didn't you get the ASUS DirectCU Mini GTX 760? It performs slightly better and is a ton smaller. Just curious. A sexy build, nonetheless.

iv had the card, I'm most likely not gonna use it for the build tho, I just wandered how it would fit, I would get the 760 itx from msi if I was getting a smaller card. I'm more into it fitting perfectly and looking good

I see. I misunderstood what you said (my English teacher really hammered perfect grammar and such into my head when using the internet. Sure, I use the ocassional cuz or something like that, but I try to stay as "professional" as I can, if you will).

My teacher wasn't a very nice grammar Nazi. Wow, holy smokes, and so on. She would rip your head off if you messed something ridiculously obvious up. That's why I'm so good. :D

Anyways...

Awww. No problem. Now turn that frown upside down and go eat some cake. You deserve it. :)

is this going to be used for gaming? because Xenon doesn't run gaming that well usually its for video editing or intensive 3d modeling

The xeon is almost exactly an i7 4770 with a slightly lower clock and 60$ less. It is an 1150 socket cpu not 2011 its not the sterotypical xeon people think of.

But  yah used for gaming and video editing

So camera/phone are broken so know way to get photos :( but i can say what i have done and that i will barrow a friends dslr to take final photos

So far i have cut two windows into the right side panel. more or less a rectangle with rounded edges and a 1 1/2inch thick line dividing it.

Same side panel has been carbonfiber wraped

cable managment is done

and the logo on the rm series psu's has been covered by carbonfiber

It doesn't matter if it's been done before, it hasn't been done by YOU before. That's what these forums are for, sharing your ideas, so stop bashing yourself :).

So your going for a red/black theme with carbon highlights. Whats your plan of attack? Have you drawn up some plans or written down what you seek to achieve? This is a very important first step.

A window is a must if you intend to put a couple of beast cards in there. Also what's this idea for a motherboard rotation. Im not formilar one iota with the prodigy so I'll have watch a review to get an idea of layout etc. But plan your build. Draw pictures in paint, look around at other builds to grab ideas.

Post some plans up here either drawn by hand or in MSPAINT and youll be good to go.

By the way...first build ever?

Already got most of the most build done, mostly just planned in my mind and had a few cad plans(didnt wanna render anything out, used a shity computer) of it with differnt window shapes.

Already cut a window, had to just use a dremel because i couldnt find my  jigsaw.

And no its like my 3rd or 4th build.

Flipping the motherboard around will give you much better aesthetics and temperature.

But it will interfere with your graphics card if it's too long.

Here is mine.

How is the PSU mounted? I want to do this but it'd mean I would have to 1) get a new PSU 2) new graphics card (780 only fits in top slot normally mounted) 3) I'd probably fuck it up in the end anyways.

My System Specs: (Short list) i7 4770k, GTX 780, many SSD's, a 2 TB HDD(deceased :( ), Corsair 650D. Full list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/kchriz6097/saved/8dh7YJ

Upgrade Plan: Acquire some Black Noctuas then add 16 or 32GB of 2133MHz memory

The bottom slot of my case, is the top part of your case. As for powersupply, I originally had it mounted with zip ties. Now it has mini hooks which latch onto the fan grill. Very secure, does not move around.
