Hello folks,

I am currently in the process of starting a private company and I need to build two workstation for me and my partner and I could really use some help!

My budget for the PCs would be 4000$ each +/- 10%. (Total 8000$).

The focus of the workstations will be modelling in 3DS Max and rendering mainly with VRay (I am currently using the CPU based renderer, but I would really like to be able to utilise the GPU one as well). Not sure if it is better to go with a GTX/RTX or a Quadro. I am planning a two monitor set up for both and would really like your recommendations for monitors as well ( they will be on a separate budjet). I would like for the monitors to be 4k and I am not sure but maybe 10bit as well (depending on the price per unit).

Also I am hoping to build a NAS device (also on a separate budjet)  as a server so it would be easier to manage the storage, the texture and model  libraries and scenes and add more workstations if things go well. Maybe a separate network card would help here?

I would appreciate any recommendations for the PCs,monitors and NAS!

Kind Regards,

Mihail

Hello folks,

If you're doing professional CAD work, get Quadro.

A number of decent NAS companies, Asustor, Synology, Qnap to name a few. When choosing a NAS hdd compatibility is important and should be established before settling on a unit.
