IP Configuration Changes When using Windows' HostedNetwork

I started a wireless hosted network and managed to set it up correctly using windows virtual network in cmd, I connected my devices and everything was transferring data perfectly, until boom, data stops coming through and I look at my laptop's WiFi symbol and it has the little yellow triangle over it.
I try and troubleshoot the problem, it says DNS server not responding, or invalid IP configuration. Resetting the WiFi device doesn't work, and the only way to get a usable connection back is to restart my laptop which gets annoying when the problem happens about every half hour or so. I should note the same problem happens when I connect a USB antenna and share that WiFi connection, and when I use the laptop's own built in network device.
Any solutions for this problem? I've tried using Google DNS on both my client device and the network host, but to no avail.
