PSU to GPU Cable question

This is a rather dumb question but I'm installing the only dual power GPU I've ever had and can't tell if I'm supposed to be using one cable which has 2 8 pin connectors for both plugins of the GPU, or if I'm supposed to run a second line from the PSU to GPU as well?

If it's a high power GPU, it's best to use two cables. Unless the cable has an unusually high wire gauge (18AWG is normal).

Its generally better to run two separate cables.
