video conferncing - cheap

Ive been watching these videos and learning lots so I thought id share a request from some of my clients who want video conferencing on the cheap

 

I haven't seen much about this so I thought what the hell, I can only get flamed or deleted.

we are using  the following setup to provide a self powered, fully contained ability in our office and clients

 

Prices are in Australian dollars (1.2 usd exchange rate)

1. • Logitech c615 hd 1080 webcamera $99
   • logitech mk345 keyboard and mouse combo $78 (jbhifi)
   • Volans 3-Port USB3.0 Hub + RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Adapter $39 (cx computer store)
   • Intel Compute Stick Win10 Atom x5-Z8300 32GB 2GB RAMHDMI $219 (cx computer store)
   • Soniq UV16B 55" 4K UHD Smart LED LCD TV, Model: S55UV16B-AU SKU: 316772 $550 (jb Hifi)
   • Microsoft P3Q-00016 Wireless Display Adapter V2 $98 (jb Hifi)

 

Supports 1080p, and runs 3840x 2160 from the windows 10 pc intel compute stick.

Currently being used for:

 

1. Pc stick for Meetings, Video conference, dashboard display of software, internal monitoring display of remote servers 
2. Connectivity for other laptops to tv wirelessly (by wireless display adapter)

the key surprise was the usbc powered intel stick which is doing very well in this limited usage, and very reasonable for meetings

Returned mine. Only fast enough for  HD+ (1600*900) (Host device was a Surface Pro 3).

We use those adapters and they work fine for our infrastructure.

 

Out of curiosity, why would you need to have an additional means of connected laptops to wireless when the intel compute stick is it's own contained system.

 

If other laptops are connecting then I assume there is some sort of logon that each user has that they are able to use to access the compute stick. Just join it to their infrastructure.
