Command and conquer complete box set - $6

Galion

Hi guys, I found this game at a garage sale the seller said it's a great game but it says it works with windows XP will I have problems playing it on my windows 10?

There's a game called RedAlert command & conquer that sounds interesting, needs a external DVD reader tho.

Any help appreciated

IIRC the original versions *will* work on Windows 10 with compatibility options applied, but they may not work very well. You'd probably be better off using a VM with Windows XP, there's a lot of good guides for setting one up.

The New Machine: Intel 11700K / Strix Z590-A WIFI II / Patriot Viper Steel 4400MHz 2x8GB / Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC w/ Bykski WB / x4 1TB SSDs (x2 M.2, x2 2.5) / Corsair 5000D Airflow White / EVGA G6 1000W / Custom Loop CPU & GPU

The Rainbow X58: i7 975 Extreme Edition @4.2GHz, Asus Sabertooth X58, 6x2GB Mushkin Redline DDR3-1600 @2000MHz, SP 256GB Gen3 M.2 w/ Sabrent M.2 to PCI-E, Inno3D GTX 580 x2 SLI w/ Heatkiller waterblocks, Custom loop in NZXT Phantom White, Corsair XR7 360 rad hanging off the rear end, 360 slim rad up top. RGB everywhere.

Red Alert was the best when I was growing up. Too bad EA decided to get rid of Westwood Studios back in 2003.

You can play the first one for free online: https://cncnet.org/red-alert

if I remember the specifics right, the copyright for Red Alert 1 expired, which spawned the open source OpenRA project, which lets you run RA1 (and other games of the same engine, e.g. Tiberian Sun, etc) natively on modern OSes

so yeah.

Wow you lucky guys I just watched the advertisement on YouTube it looks epic up to 8 players and you can steal tech, man the company folded before I even had the chance to play.

EA should bring this kind of games back

Don't quote me on this but I believe that the game I linked above also supports online competitive play assuming people stil play it. You can also try Starcraft or Starcraft II, I think they are free and people still play it online.

You're in luck, EA teased that they are remastering Command and Conquer: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/pc-command-and-conquer-remaster-teased-by-ea/1100-6462507/

Hopefully no micro-transactions on this one.

Screw micro transactions it ruined star wars for me
