Headset Mic no work D:

Okay so I just built my new pc and my mic doesn't work. So this is a headset mic and it works on other devices and my old pc so I know it works. But when I set up a new pc it doesn't. All my plugs are in right and I have a feeling that its Realtek's driver only allowing it to be a headphone and no mic add-on as its only one plug and I do not have a splitter. So before I try a splitter what can I possibly do.

Then ya you need a 4 pole to 3/3 splitter probably...PCs don't take 4 pole connectors normally, that's like a cellphone thing.
