APKTOOL failed to recompile

i wanted to do some changes to an app, it decompiled with no problems, bu while recompiling it ran in to problems

PS C:\Users\DAT DUDE\Desktop\exapmle> .\apktool b example
I: Using Apktool 2.3.4
I: Checking whether sources has changed...
I: Smaling smali folder into classes.dex...
example\smali\com\epicgames\ue4\GameActivity.smali[33946,4] mismatched input 'object' expecting END_METHOD_DIRECTIVE
Could not smali file: com/epicgames/ue4/GameActivity.smali
