I need a laptop for a friend that is mostly use to stream TV and youtube. So the display needs to be decent and 15 inches 1080p. It is mostly going to be stationary but should have a minimum of 2 hours web surfing and average weight (5.5lb/2.5kg) for those moving around and such. Should be easy to upgrade RAM and HDD/SSD. And have a 2.5 inches drive bay. Prefer a global warranty but not required. Should be around 500USD but willing to go up to 600. Prefer to buy NEW from newegg.com (no tax). Minimal gaming.

Thinking the Acer Aspire 5 for him

As long as it can stream 1080p lag free is fine. Probably no need for dGPU but couldnt hurt for some of the decoding for streaming

The Lenovo and the HP pavillion, the one listed, arent on the newegg. Going to look at amazon later. But tax probably kill the deal. Maybe check on frys

There are two models for the Acer https://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?CompareItemList=32|34-316-529^34-316-529%2C34-316-369^34-316-369 The different between the two that I see is only the display right?

It's the same TN panel. From what I can tell, another has backlit KB and Alexa enabled
