Depends on the game, but I would personally recommend nothing higher than a 1070, and even that would be a bit excessive in most cases. I believe best value is gonna be 1060 3gb, but if you had the money to consider a 1080 ti, hence the question, then perhaps a better CPU would also be in order. Upgrading to an i5 8600 or something would basically allow any GPU without bottleneck.

A 1060 or a 1050ti are good options for an i3, as it seems you're on a budget too
