Overclocking Chipsets for Core 2 Quad?

Go to solution Solved by Fasauceome,

this could help

apparently g41 chipsets allow it

My grandfather is currently running on a non-overclocked Core 2 Quad Q6600, that has been a part of his "internet machine" for almost a decade now. However, recently, he has wanted to overclock it, to extend its usefulness to him. However, he doesn't know what chipsets allow for overclocking, and I got into PC building after the days of Core 2.

Thannks!

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

What are the rest of the specs?

Is it a prebuilt?

To put it simply, 4GB (2 x 2) of RAM at 667 MHz, a GTX 280, and a 500W PSU, since those are what are relevant here. He built it himself.
