Trying to understand audio interface

So a couple weeks back i bought myself a xlr microphone and audio interface (Scarlett 2i2). Today i got around buying an adapter from 3,5mm jack to 6.3mm stereo jack so i could plug my headset into the audio interface. I get sound to my headset but its awful.... Anyone have a fix? So basicly trying to plug my hyperx cloud2 headset into my scarlett 2i2 with an adapter.

Definitely TRS... Have any other headphones, earbuds, or speakers you could plug in to make sure the issue isn't exclusive to your headset?

I own a Scarlett 2i2 and have never run into this, sounds defective to me.

I'm assuming you have the latest drivers installed?

It also acts as and output device in windows + most interfaces have a headphone output for direct monitoring of inputs.
