Hi guys i have problem with my sound on COMPUTER (not laptop okay)

Well first my mainboard was P5G41T M-LX3

Last month im updated to newer bios available from Asus everything work fine and smoothly

But today my sound disappear

Let me explain what wrong is

1.on realtek app on tray only showing digital sound spdif (NOT Speaker analog)

2.im try from control panel and open SOUND and got list of my playback devices, but what wrong is "speaker realtek high definition not plugged in"  and cannot set to default even after im put jack on back panel onboard sound(the green one) no sound no nothing

3.i try clean install windows and updated the driver but still the same

4.last thing i try to boot live cd linux (mint and ubuntu) it still the same, what weird is only detect digital sound not realtek speaker analog device

Well the problem in my cases is,why only digital sound output alive while analog output dead(not useable)

I try too look at bios it only show front panel plugin which is not related with my backpanel analog realtek audio right ?

i try to upgrade and downgrade bios this afternoon and still the problem occured

So help me analyze and fix this please

my best suggestion to you would be go to the manufacture website of the board, I'm assuming Asus in this case, and download the latest Audio Driver. Install the driver and restart PC and see if this brings  your audio back. If this doesn't work, next thing I would do is go to device manager, uninstall any sound devices and then reinstall. Try these and let us know if anything changes.

Well thanks for the tip,but i try every possible cases

From driver

Clean install windows

Try live cd linux

But still occured

The big problem in my cases was "the motherboard only showing DIGITAL AUDIO OUTPUT" not the analog one

this could be a physical problem with the board then. if for some reason the audio driver on the motherboard is damaged, the only work around I can suggest would be to get an inexpensive sound card if you have an available PCIE slot. If you've already tried everything I suggested, as well as a clean windows install, I honestly don't know what else could be the problem. Some computer specs would help. Are you running an graphics card or onboard graphics? Do you have NVidia control panel or AMD Radeon? Only other thing that comes to mind would be to do a CMOS reset as well if you haven't already.

No i dont use any graphics card or any audio card just motherboard

It's office computer and it just suddenly happen,i lost the sound and only digital output available,im suspecting motherboard fault here cause in most case if driver or windows damage/fault

I always try linux live cd to test on,and work well

But when i try its the same only showing digital output,no analog sound(realtek)
