I have problem with my cherry mx brown keyboard. The keys or feels slow and like sticks to the bottom. I mainly play fps games and at high level and I saw someone selling topre ralforce rgb in my country for 150€. Will the topre keyswitch be faster to spam compared to cherry mx brown or red. I spam my keys hard and bottom out always. And I don't mind the good ruberdome feeling.

this question might be better suited for a the r/mechanicalkeyboards and geekhack forums but I can try to help you. Topre switches are very tactile so the problems that you face with the mx browns might only get worse with them, especially for spam. I think you'd want to look more into linear switches. I'm using Kaihl speed silvers right now for gaming. They have a high actuation point so it registers the click right as you just begin to press the key. Though really, the switch you find to work the best will be different than the one I use.

If you get an opportunity to try a topre switch or similar feeling switch then use that but I think in general, you won't see an improvement.

The RGB RealForce is different than the plain RF and has a worse feeling / is built worse. I wouldn't suggest it. However, you can set up actuation point on it, making the keys easier to actuate than on a 87U.

I use a 87U with lighter keys pulled from an UDK Topre, also own a RGB RF. Yes, they're not the best choice for gaming but if you do get a vanilla Topre, it won't be a terrible choice for FPS either. I mean, I have used these keyboards for FPS and typing for years and they have been pretty good for the most part.

If you need to assign keys, or spam for RTS games, then yeah I can see the point in getting a different switch keyboard. Otherwise they actually aren't terrible in FPS, just lacking compared to faster keyboards. The good typing feeling kind of compensates for its gaming performance. ;)

They're not as fast as Cherry Blue or Greens, that's for sure. I have owned keyboards with those switches and they were faster. The Topre keycaps are higher, and actuation distance is as well. It's a keyboard for the typist, not the gamer. You can game on it well, it feels good.. but that's about it. It's not the best keyboard for every type of gaming.

Membrane keyboards suck when it comes to feeling but it also depends on which one you're comparing it to. Chiclet types tend to be fast, like way faster than Topre because of the tiny structure.
