Hey all,

Recently finished building first PC, all in all it was a success, getting great frames in game.

My main concern though is the heat that it's CPU / Liquid is running at.

Idle in desktop the CPU is about 35-45°C and the Liquid is at about 32-35°C.

After a while of gaming, my cooler's liquid is running at a max of about 40°C, and is whirring away.

And my CPU spikes from 50-65°C, highest it ever reached was 68°C.

Is this normal / good / bad?
Please reply if you know.

Tthanks,

- Tom

CPU: i7 8700k 3.7GHz (Not OC)

Cooler: Corsair H100i v2

Case: MC600P

Please ask if you want/need any more info on specs!

68 is still pretty low for CPU temp.

Can you change your fan settings to ramp up a bit more?  That might lower it if you are concerned.

Thanks for reply,

By fan settings do you mean chassis fans or the cooler's?

I can change cooler's, but have it on a mid-range setting, anything higher sounds like a jet engine (super distracting/loud).

And as for the chassis fans, nothing I can do about them right now (only 3-pin), but most likely gonna order some Noctua NF-A14 PWMs, they all have great reviews, which would allow me to run it at a more efficient/quieter rate (hopefully).

As for the cooler's liquid temperature, would you say this is normal? I tried searching, but lots of contradicting/vague posts : /

Yeah I meant cooler fan.  If it is plugged into the motherboard you might be able to fine tune it better than just low-med-high in the BIOS.  depending on what board you have.

Honestly, I don't know how big your radiator is, but a MAX of 68 is fine for a CPU all day.  I wouldn't worry about it.

Radiator is 240mm

thanks for reply, I can fine tune it to a degree (using corsair link) but I have it set to a preset mode, since it is guaranteed to work, and not much I could do to make a difference without excess noise or temperature.

The fan speed arcs depending on how hot the cooler gets.
