I have a huge problem with my EVGA x79 Dark MB:

My current components:

CPU: 4820k

GPU: AMD HD 5670 (just for testing)

PSU: Corsair AX 860

RAM: Kingston Hyper Beast 2133 Mhz 32 GB @ 1,65 V

SSD: Samsung 830 250GB

When i first got the MB, i had a 3960x. I installed everything and the system booted right into win7 which was preinstalled on the SSD. Then i went back into the BIOS and set the RAM to a XMP-Profile- saved it and PC shut down... never booted up again - the LEDs on the MB were on, but no Post-Code - the fan of the GPU would spin for a millisec and then turned off again. Tried CMOS, change RAM-Dimms,... PSU works fine - i have tried it separatly. Then i sent the MB to EVGA and got a new one. In the meantime i changed to a 4820k. I installed everything - the system booted right up into win7 - the first thing to do - i thought - to get a stable system is to flash the BIOS to the newest one - so i did that from win 7 (which is recommended by EVGA) - everything went fine - the PC shut down - then: never booted up again - same issue like on the first MB. I tried different Ram-Dimms - didn´t help. There must me some incompatibilities with the MB - but i don´t know which one...

Any ideas or recommendations what to do? I am thankful for any help or advice.

Isn't it recommended to reinstall Windows when switching MB's? Heard it can cause issues.

no post codes. i have tried all the 3 BIOSes  on the board. No, i haven´t lost power.

@lachyman - i would have done a new clean install - but first i wanted to update to the newest BIOS. And if that is the problem - i would be able to boot into BIOS - wouldn´t I?
