Lenovo Yoga 3 won't turn on and high pitch sound

My Lenovo Yoga 3 won't turn on. I tried removing the battery for a few hours, only using the AC adapter, pressing the novo key but no success. 
The AC adapter works fine and there is current on the motherboard.
I also noticed a high pitched sound comming from near the WiFi adapter. 
I tried removing the card but it still won't turn on. No LEDs turning on, no fan spinn, nothing. 
Could it be that there is a broken transformer or cpacitor that prevents the laptop from turning on?
