Ryzen 2700 (non x) compatible with B350 MB ?

Go to solution Solved by Zando_,

You'll be fine with the B350-F, all the 300 series boards work with the 2000 series CPUs after a BIOS update. Noice board too, I have the B450-F version for my 2700X.

Hey guys !

The title says it all !

So i was looking to upgrade my current CPU (R5 1600) and the 2700 looked like a worth while upgrade. My current motherboard is the Asus strix b350-f gaming and i wonder if there is any compatibility issues or i can keep my MB.

Thanks !

I am not a ryzen expert but after research it seems it does support the second gen ryzen so yes you should be able to keep your mobo, but make sure your bios is updated otherwise it might not work.

It will support it with a BIOS update. Don't expect to be overclocking too much, due to the 4 phase VRM.

:)

I wasn't looking to overclock. Im actually afraid to touch that and just looking to best raw performance without modifying much of my PC / Software ! Thanks for the advise tho.
