Im helping a friend build a low budget gaming pc. His price range is about $500-550.

So far his only concrete choice has been an R9 270x. Given this, the budget is down to $350.

He wants 8gb of DDR3-1600 ram. The cheapest ram i could find to fit his situation was-A-Data XPG Gaming Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory at $63.

As for storage he wants 1TB so i found  a Western Digital WD1002FBYS for $55.

I am now left with a $230 budget for motherboard, PSU, CPU, case.

He hasn't chosen a case he likes yet.

Anyone have any suggestion on the cheapest cpu that will not bottleneck the GPU or battlefield 4?

Also, any motherboard or PSU recommendations?

-Thanks

Thanks for your responses.

What do you guys think of this? Its a bit over the 550, but i think it will be best for his uses. Anyone see any contradictions for the parts used, maybe an incompatibility issue? So far it looks like all the parts will work together. Im not seeing anything that might not work.

Motherboard:  ASROCK 960GM/U3S3 FX
Storage:  What ever is cheaper when he goes to buy
Case:  Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case  (he likes it so i guess it will be this one)
