Hello guys, with the supposed release of 11 series soon ( or not, I don't really know :)), what is the best card to buy for my new PC?

Due to my budget, I intend to buy it used, so should I opt for a 10 series card, like the 1070, or a Maxwell card like the 980ti? I don't know which will be the better option. Also, I can increase my budget at the expense of a second monitor, so I could get a 1080 (but not Ti for sure :D), but is it smart to do so if it is used, and could have a shortened lifespan?

Thanks <3

Of those 2 the performance is about the same, but I would get the 1070 if it's the same amount.  (Though a 980ti should be cheaper than a 1070)

In this day and age, you should 9/10 always be considering Pascal cards over Maxwell. They would be roughly the same performance but Pascal has better power efficiency.

Good points guys, but I can get a 980ti for very cheap on ebay, but a 1070 seems to bit decently more. I might even get a 980, I don't know yet to be honest :P

The 980ti and 1070 are significantly more powerful than a 980.  If you have the money the 1070 is the best card in your line up.

Do you already have a PC? What CPU and what's your monitor resolution/refresh rate?

If not post budget/country.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?
