Please don't hate if this is a stupid question, but if a case has a microphone and a headphone conector where should I plug in a headset?

Well, if your headset has separate connections for them, then plug them into the respective things. If your headset doesn't have the cables separate, then you're SOL without a USB adapter or the like AFAIK unless your motherboard has the same type of connection for 3.5 MM that most laptops have.
