has anyone here ever used the tails operating system? How reliable is it?

I installed it in a VM to mess around with.  It seemed a little more bare bones than some of the more mainstream distros, and obviously more privacy oriented, but I never had any stability issues with it.

would you say it was private enough to download movies and software from "netflix" without any concerns?

I don't use persistent volume so I lose everything every shutdown, but I've used Tails before. Here's my thoughts....

Not the most reliable OS to use, sometimes it can be problematic to update the OS. The instruction requires you to have 2 flash drives, 1 for installer, the other one for the actual OS. Tails OS doesn't have many software built-in, it's purposely built for internet privacy in most cases, not for work.

It doesn't have many features, the main browser is Tor, but you can also use I2P network.

Having a persistent volume would certainly make it more reliable (as for being usable), otherwise it's impossible to save files there.

Tails OS has some issues with some laptop models, my laptop (Acer Aspire E 15) for example can't be shut down and I have to hold down the power button every single time. But when I had my MacBook Pro I experienced not many issues surprisingly (only boot menu).

Privacy stand point, Tails really stands out as it routes internet connection through Tor. Sometimes becomes my OS of choice when I'm having a holiday.
