- DESK PROJECT '14 -

Hi there guys!

I am planning to completely take my desk apart and paint it. After that I am planning to rebuild the desk, from scratch. Even though I already know that a couple of things will be in the same place after i'm done.

Why this might be interesting for you:

- I'm planning to finish the desk before 2014 so

- Lots of photos!

- I will explain every little detail I think that matters

- I will show you every step of the process since I will start with only the metal frame of my desk

- You might just learn something since I will note the problems I will find during the build

- I am not going to spend more then 50 euro for the complete build, so 'anyone' could essentially do this themself

Changes to make:

- Paint the metal frame black

- Replace the wooden top with flat grey-ish wooden beams

- Make the desk taller (since I am about 2 meters tall)

- Paint the Speaker-stands

- Redo the cable management

- Put the USB Soundcard under the black shelf

- Also make LED's  under the shelf

- Make Some 230V and some USB outlets on the desk

What I own to put on/under the desk:

- Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT-990 PRO 250 Ohm

- Studio Monitors: Edefier Studio 6 Plus

- PC: Custom PC with a 3770K@4.6gHz and a 670 in a Zalman Z11 case

- Monitor: LG 21,5 inch

- Keyboard: Corsair K90

- Mouse: Roccat Kova+

- Mousepad: Steelseries QCK Mass

- Soundcard: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi HD

- CD Player: Some second-hand sony one

- Tablet: Google Nexus 7 (2013)

- Router: TP-Link TL-WR1043ND

I'm going to start disassembling in about 2 hours, since then everybody will be awake and I will not bother anybody.

Let me know what you think!

Cheers, Luuk

I will, eventually, if I've got the money, the problem is, in holland, you can find a soundcard in about every shop you look, but a DAC is something that apearantly no shop has ever heared of...
