So dose anyone have a clue for whats it like to work with one of these:

It's very much like a lot of the other eGPU solutions on the market, such as the Sonnet Breakout Box - it's just an eGPU.

 

Should work well, as BM have validated it with Apple and it should work with both Macs and PCs a treat, as long as you have TB3 and the latest firmware.
